As you will have noticed, if you want to ski in April and May, it's best to choose high-altitude resorts in order to take advantage of sufficient good quality snow. Rising between 1,550 m and 3,450 m, the slopes of Tignes are ideal for your spring skiing holidays. Even better, where most high altitude resorts close their slopes in mid-April, Tignes remains open until the beginning of May. Our resort has one of the best snow conditions in the world!
For any booking of a 6 day accommodation + ski lessons package for children or adults, we offer you :
Offer valid from 23/04 to 08/05
The Tignes ski area is ideally located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park at an altitude of between 1,550 and 3,450 metres. An optimal geographical situation allowing the winter season to be extended every year until spring. In fact, the Tignes area enjoys sufficient snow conditions right up to the last moment to be able to ski in spring with peace of mind in April and even into May, thanks to its altitude of course, but also thanks to the Grande Motte Glacier situated at over 3000 metres with the presence of eternal snow.*
To sum up, skiing in spring in Tignes is the assurance of being able to ski thanks to the natural snow still present on the domain and this until the beginning of May! This is evidenced by the fact that the Black Shoes telemark event has been organised every year since 1992, where good humour and festivities meet perfectly with the atmosphere of spring skiing!
*Tignes is one of the few French ski areas to open in summer thanks to its Glacier
Coming to enjoy the Tignes ski area in the spring also means peace of mind, with less traffic than in February during the school holidays, for example. You will be able to explore and enjoy the area freely, with less waiting at the lifts, less stress on the slopes and more room on the terraces of the mountain restaurants!
It is also an opportunity for beginners to learn or improve their skiing skills in complete peace of mind. And why not try some new activities? Ski touring to see the area from a new angle, sledging with friends or family, ice diving, paragliding, microlighting, etc.
Not a skier? The mountains are open to you! In spring, the lower number of visitors in the area offers you new perspectives! Take the time to relax on the terrace, whether at altitude or in the heart of the resort. The longer days and milder temperatures give you the opportunity to go for a nice walk at altitude to take a big breath of fresh air and admire the panorama!
At the end of the day, it's time to go out and have fun and take part in the many après-ski events organised in the resort: have a drink (or two) on the terrace with your friends and enjoy the musical and festive atmosphere until the sun sets!
